· Spanish for beginners and Latin American literature (one semester)
· Advanced Spanish and Latin American literature (one semester)
You chose between Spanish for beginners or Spanish for advanced speakers. Spanish for beginners is aimed towards those who have none or little previous knowledge of the language. If you wish to study Advanced Spanish, you should have good knowledge of Spanish, e.g. from upper secondary school. We can help you choose if you are unsure which level to study. Spanish constitutes 2/3 of the course, Latin-American literature 1/3. Written and oral exam in Spanish are held in Buenos Aires before departure. Classes are held in English and Spanish.
The course provides an introduction to Spanish-American literature, from modernism to the present. Representative texts from different countries and genres, give the students an overview of main literary trends. This program provides insight into basic literary analysis. You learn to comment on the course literature and will be able to put this in the relevant literature historical context.
