Quepos seen through the eyes of a local
Here you can read about our amazing study location Quepos!

Quepos is a lively beach town with lots of fun activities. It is known as one of the most beautiful tourist and beach areas in Costa Rica.

Quepos is a small beach town where you can find everything you need: restaurants, small and large supermarkets, cafes, and social and cultural activities. Additionally, Quepos is the location of the campus, specifically in Paquita.
For a Costa Rican, the main attraction in Quepos is definitely Marina Pez Vela. Here one can observe some truly fantastic sailboats.
This is a very attractive area for Costa Ricans, especially for those who have mostly lived in a larger city. This is also a place where prestigious fishing tournaments take place, such as the PELAGIC Rockstar Offshore Tournament where NBA legend Michael Jordan participated!

A favorite activity among students in Quepos is to visit the marina to drink coffee and watch the sunset. You can do the same, but downtown, at the Bahía Azul restaurant.
Nearby lies Manuel Antonio. The first impressions you get when you go to Manuel Antonio are the beautiful mountains you cross to get there, and along the way, you are greeted by a fantastic view of the open sea.
Once you are in Manuel Antonio, you are surrounded by tourists, nature, and animals. I think of Manuel Antonio as a colorful place: you will find beautiful pink and orange sunsets, tall green trees, and the blue-turquoise color of the sea, all in one place!

Other popular activities in Manuel Antonio include swimming at the beaches in the national park and kayaking at Biesanz Beach.
If you're lucky, you might see monkeys and sloths as they appear in the trees from time to time. You can also try ziplining here!

A cozy café/restaurant in Manuel Antonio is Café Milagro, which features live music on weekends, and for a great meal in front of the beach, the restaurants Marlin and Buru are fantastic.
We invite you to experience Quepos and Manuel Antonio. This is an unforgettable area!
